Honeysuckle Vintage

“The vibe is 80s Art Deco with pastel colors,” said Mackenzie Martin of Honeysuckle Vintage.

Nothing makes me happier than a client who knows their brand even before it exists. Mackenzie Martin is exactly that person. She is an icon who makes a lasting impression. Her vintage shop’s logo had to be the same. There is no room for error.

About Honeysuckle Vintage

Honeysuckle Vintage is the brainchild of stylist Mackenzie Martin. She has a passion for thrifted fashion. While traveling the country, Mackenzie is curating unique items for her online shop.

I was inspired immediately. I had a brainstorming session and developed four logo concepts. I always start with a black and white logo. Like my design professor told me years ago, a successful design will be strong as black and white. The I will develop a color palette. I had a favorite of the four, but I do not want to influence my client. They will know which represents them best. I was ecstatic when Mackenzie picked my favorite!

From there, I explored a universe of color studies. This is where my heart is at home. Mackenzie sent me some great visuals that inspired her brand and color scheme. I sifted through the Pantone color book to identify the perfect palette of baby pink, teal, light yellow, and lavender. The bold teal and light yellow are an abstract honeysuckle flower and vine. The decorative lines above the text winds its way down to the word “HONEYSUCKLE” like the vine. The light yellow fills in the text like the sweet nectar. I’m already getting nostalgic for my childhood summers at my Grandma Fern’s house in the country.

Once the logo was ready, I was so excited to share. I knew it was the perfect fit for her vision.

“This makes me want to hit up a mall in the 1980s…in a good way,” I told her.

“Exactly! That’s the vibes I’m going for!” Mackenzie exclaimed.

We nailed it in one day. There are so many more elements to design as she launches her business. I am so excited for Mackenzie Martin and Honeysuckle Vintage. The sky is the limit for her ambition and fashion aesthetic. Mackenzie will travel and curate vintage styles to sell in her online boutique. Follow her personal Instagram and business Instagram to stay up-to-date.

Reusable Tote Bag

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in the fashion industry. For a curated vintage shop, how fun is the idea of reusable tote bag?? Here are a couple fun promotion ideas:

  • Offer a FREE tote bag with a minimum purchase or customers can purchase slightly above wholesale costs with the profit benefiting a sustainability organization.

  • Customers can get a small discount on their future purchases every time they use their tote bag, or throw random “flash sale” days where customers can get a small discount when using their tote.
